When Nasty Weather Makes You Feel Like Eating!

Do you ever get the feeling of just curling up by the fire with some chips and dip while the rain falls outside and it is cold and miserable?

It’s raining in the West today and it seems like the perfect weather to curl up and eat something to soothe me.  Why is that?  Is this something I have learned from my upbringing?  Many people feel the same way on days like this.  To yucky to go out, so let’s stay in and eat!

Maybe it’s a cultural thing?  We have been taught by other people and possibly the media, that when the weather is nasty, it’s a great time to stay in and entertain yourself with something else.  Maybe that’s the key, it’s just that some of us choose food to entertain ourselves at times like this.  Others choose games, reading or movies to stay occupied indoors.  I have learned to think of food as being the first place to go to ease my boredom.

It’s Time for a Change!

Well today is the day we change the leadership of our country and with that comes the hope of something better, more positive in our future.  That’s all we can do at this point is hope and watch to see what happens.  But it’s not all we can do if things don’t change in this country for the better.  We can participate in creating that change.

Participation requires more energy, time and commitment and it also realizes more results, benefits and appreciation.  It’s the same with your physical and mental well being.  You can sit back and hope your situation changes or you can get going and make it change.  That’s what it’s all about and it’s that simple.

Too many people are just sitting around wishing it would change.  Hoping for something better and not taking any action to make it better.
