Self Inquiry is the Fastest Way to Grow

September 20th, 2011

In spending the weekend focusing on Bryon Katie's 4 Questions model, I am so intrigued by the simplicity and beauty of self inquiry and how profound the meditation on the situation can be for you in your life. If you have not heard of Byron Katie, you can find out more about her at The Work.

What is it in the question: Can you absolutely know it is true? that opens up our often tight, restricted mind to the possibility of possibility? I think it allows us to actually, for that moment, let go of our beliefs and non-defensively be open to a thought that is opposite of what we hold in our mind. In that moment, we open, our hearts and our minds open to new ideas that could help us see things in a more peaceful, less stressful way!

It's beautiful and I recommend you try it. It's simple, when you fight with reality, you lose… so why fight!

Where are you fighting with reality in your life right now and how are you suffering because of it?

Is Chronic Physical Pain Any Different Than Chronic Emotional Pain?

September 15th, 2011

I was talking with a good friend today and we were discussing my upcoming back surgery and I was explaining how my life has had this cloud over it with this chronic back pain I have been in for many years now… and she said to me, “I know how you feel. My weight creates chronic pain for me also, very much like your back pain, but my pain is emotional but it still hurts all the time.”

I was taken aback! I couldn’t agree with her more! Being overweight is like having chronic emotional pain if the weight is a burden, and most people’s excess weight is! Mine was and still is, just not as much as it was 60 lbs ago.

Regardless of where your pain lives or where it originated, the way to lift the fog is to heal the pain. Whatever it takes! For me, in this situation, it’s back surgery and then rehabilitation, followed by a strengthening and flexibility training program. All in all, I have months of hard work to get my health back and get my weight and body back to a place that my life energy flows through me and lifts me up every single day!

That’s what it is all about! Feeling so good in your body that it lifts you up instead of knocks you down! If your body, if your life is knocking you down right now… you gotta keep getting up but you have to change what you are doing so you start spending less time down and more time up!

What kinds of things can you do, starting today, that help you stay up more than push you down? Love to hear some ideas and share some thoughts.

Day #11 has been the best yet on my HCG journey!

January 25th, 2011

I just felt alive today! I felt like I had boundless energy!

Yesterday was a routine doctors visit and she said in her follow up email, she said I was glowing!

And… oh oh oh, I didn’t lose a single ounce since yesterday and I fell okay about it. I’m not going to quit.

Eye on the prize…

So, I have had to resort to text updates because I can’t seem to load videos to WordPress this week. So, stay tuned for your next update and till then, live with joy and exuberance!

Love to hear your stories of a day when you felt unstoppable… ~ Lisa

Too late now, I will load it in the morning.

All my best!

1 Week Today! HCG Rocks! Keeping my eye on the prize!

January 21st, 2011

Today is Day #7 and I’m down another .8 lbs and feeling great!

Couldn’t post yesterday after my eye doctors appointment. Got my eyes dilated and couldn’t see again till around 10pm that night!

More to come.

Day #5 on HCG and I hit a few rough spots!

January 19th, 2011

Had brunch with a friend at a great little cafe here in the area and I have to admit, it was hard ordering just egg whites and spinach, hold the butter, oil or any other wonderfully flavorful fat!

And… it was so delicious when I got it! Those 2 flavors was wonderful together.

Then later in the day, my energy was dragging and I realized I had not planned well and brought my fruit. So the afternoon was long… but I feel good and I’m motivated!

Lesson learned and it’s in the quote: “Nothing tastes as good as thin feels”.

So I had a great day on my HCG plan! Just had a wonderful salad of organic greens, fresh orange slices and chicken with balsamic vinegar on it. Delicious!

Thank for being a part of my journey. See you tomorrow!

HCG continues to help me not feel as hungry as I might be otherwise!

It’s Day #3 and no more eating whatever I want! Thank goodness!
